Membership in The Met

Met membership gives you free regular admission plus significant discounts on our educational programs and fun family activities. New for 2008, we offer three forms of annual membership — Family, Met-for-Two, and Business — and a Membership Donation option. Please download and use our Membership Registration Form, fill one out at The Met, or call us at (603) 425-2560 with any questions.

Family Membership — $100

ACMA Family Membership lets you and your immediate family enjoy the Met at your own pace and in your own way, and gives you free admission to 130 Association of Children's Museums (ACM) museums around the country. This generous $100 annual membership includes:

  • Unlimited visits to The Met for one year (a $6 per person value every visit).
  • Great discounts on Birthday Parties, Pre-School Workshops, and other educational and special programs.
  • Free admission to other participating ACM museums including Boston, Portsmouth, Rhode Island, & Easton, MA. See the ACM site for a complete list of participating museums.
  • A subscription to our regular newsletter, The Met Gazette, plus early notice of special programs and events and soon a unique "behind the scenes" view of the museum.

A Family Membership covers six members of your Immediate Family: children, parents, and grandparents, plus a regular sitter or nanny. It does not apply to field trips, group admissions, or birthday parties. (Special upgrades are available to current members joining in September 2007 or later; see the details below.)

Met-for-Two Membership — $60

A Met-for-Two Membership is a cost-effective way for one adult and one child to enjoy the Met as often as they like throughout the year. This $60 annual membership includes:

  • Unlimited visits to The Met for one year (a $6 per person value every visit).
  • Great discounts on Birthday Parties, Pre-School Workshops, and other educational and special programs.
  • A subscription to our regular newsletter, The Met Gazette, plus early notice of special programs and events and soon a unique "behind the scenes" view of the museum.

This membership covers one adult and one child, and does not include free admission to other ACM member museums.

Membership Donation — $75

For some young families our membership fees, while an extremely good value, may not be within their budget.  You can make it possible for a deserving family to take advantage of all The Met has to offer.  You can make a directed donation of $75 and we will give a Met Family Membership to a family who can use it.  A local family service organization will assist with the determination of a qualified family and oversee the donation.

Business Membership — $250

A Business Membership lets organizations offer the educational fun of the Met as a benefit or incentive for employees or a gift for customers. For $250 annually, a company receives 50 customized one-time free visit passes. Employees also get member discounts on Met programs and parties, and a special 10% discount on purchasing their own Met Family Membership. Call us at (603) 425-2560 or email for more information.

Upgrades for Current Members

Current members who purchased an old Met-only $75 membership after August 31, 2007, can optionally upgrade to the new Met Family Membership (with ACM privileges) for just $6.25 per month (e.g., $25 if the membership was purchased in September). Members who purchased an old $125 membership with ACM access after August 31 will automatically receive a three-month extension of their annual membership.
