We are encouraged and very grateful for the outpouring of support from all around the region. Here are some of the comments we've received.
The Met has been such a wonderful place for my twins to learn and explore. I never have to worry about their safety or their well-being. I can't tell you how many cold winter days or hot summer days we have come to play and enjoy all the Met has to offer. My husband works right around the corner, so he often stops by, when we are at the Met, to say hello and play for a while. It would be an absolute black mark on the town of Derry to let such a wonderful and essential part of the community go.
— Carrie Peabody, Mother to Kylie & Ryan 3yrs., Auburn
Don't let this jewel that many Derry families have been part of for years disappear. Let's work together to rescue the Met. read more ...
— Steve Falconer, Derry
Kathy Gallagher, my mother, helped start The Met and I would like to help contibute to keep her vision alive!
— Kieran Gallagher, Moran, Wyoming
We hope this will help save the Met. It is so important for our children to be inspired and PLAY CREATIVELY.
— Catherine & Raymond Jansen, Lloyd Harbour, New York
Xander, my grandson, and I would sorely miss the MET if it had to close. In the past three years, it was here he learned independence as he found the sand and water and train tables farther and farther away from Grammie; where, as an only child, he began to share toys and space; and, as he got older and more confident, mastered the ladder and slide and fire pole by himself. Even though he lives in the Portsmouth NH area, he would rather endure the 45 minute ride to spend 3 hours at the MET than the 15 minutes it takes to go the "other museum."
— Bob and Sara Fogg, Wellesley, Massachusetts
As a mother of two young boys and as a psychologist, I have always been impressed by the creative and innovative ways in which the Met strives to help children develop cognitively, socially, and emotionally. Moreover, it is rare to encounter a group of people as devoted, invested, and passionate about kids as the Met Staff.
The Met is more than just a place for kids to play; it is a unique environment designed to target the complex needs of a developing child. There is no question that the loss of the Met would be an irreplaceable loss to our community.
— Suzanne Kuchel, Ph.D., Londonderry
Saving the Met is a worthwhile effort. The museum draws about 30,000 visitors a year to downtown Derry. It's the kind of destination that helps other businesses nearby.
The Met has been a centerpiece for Derry downtown since it opened. We hope the effort to save it is successful.

The MET is such a wonderful place for families of multiples to bring their twins. It is a wonderful safe place to let multiples explore and learn, while allowing parents the piece of mind to know their children can not escape. It would be such an incredible loss for Southern NH to loss such a GEM!! Area Business Leaders should be doing whatever you need them to do to help you.
— Trisha Korkosz, Queen City Mothers of Twins Club, Manchester
Our grandchildren live in Derry and I have visited the Met with them. They love it, are members, and frequent it often. I don't want this wonderful facility to be forced to close and hope this meager contribution helps to keep it open!
— Diane & Don Chase, Manchester
Our children need an educational, interactive place to learn and have some fun. Many times we read in the papers about how kids have no where to go, and the Met helps provide a safe, healthy environment for them. It would be a shame to lose such a resource!
— Karen Desmarais, Derry
I want to be able to share the fun that is The Met with my grandchildren.

The Met has been with us for 16 years. It is such a positive force in this community, and I truly believe that people want this organization to survive and thrive.
— Amy McLaughlin, Derry
I have been bringing my two young sons there for over two years and now have a membership as well. We absolutely love the educational and fun experience at The Met and would be very sad to see it closed. I am happy to make a personal pledge in hopes that it may help keep The Met open!!
— Kathryn Joelle Ford, Deerfield
I have enjoyed the Met with my grandchildren and am happy to pledge my support to help the museum stay open.
— Debi Router, Springfield, Massachusetts
My family has enjoyed The Met for the last four years - it is such a wonderful place for my children and for me! They get to meet lots of other kids, and I get the opportunity to talk with other mom's and dad's. We all benefit from it's existence - so we all need to help save it!!
— Rene Williams, Londonderry
We live on the Seacoast, but regularly travel (often courtesy of Grammie!) to visit the Met. It's a great place for my 3-year old to develop and hone his skills - especially learning how to work with other kids. The exhibits are terrific and worth the commute (and worth investing in to make sure they don't go away)!
— Jeanne Quinn, Greenland
I am moved by your high-spirited campaign to Save the Met that I just saw reported on WBZ TV. Good luck! Looks like a great place!
— Joan Norris, Hanover, Massachusetts
Are we up to the challenge? We have to be. Saving an invaluable resource like The Met is not something we’ll get a second shot at folks, and losing them will be a major blow not only to our downtown and the economic opportunities it represents, but it will be a blow to our children, and thereby, our future as well.
— Neil Wetherbee, Derry
We love The Met. We have recently been to a birthday party there. With 3 children it is a fun and easy way to keep track of all of them. Good Luck and we hope it stays open.
— Michelle Packowski, East Hampstead
I have such fond memories of the Met. It was a place for me to grow and learn and explore my creative sides. I can't imagine a childhood without it.
— Brendan James, New York City (a rising musical star raised in Derry)
My children and grandchildren have all enjoyed the Met. I believe that having a childrens' museum in the area enhances the entire community.
— Alan Gordon, Londonderry
I had been looking for somewhere to bring my two year old daughter to play and interact with other children. I found the Met online and I was quite surprised to see that it was scheduled to be closed at the end of this month but decided to give it a try. I was very happily surprised and then saddened to think it might be closing so quickly after discovering it! We had such fun I hope it can manage to reach its goals!
— Tracy Morley, Goffstown
The Met has played an integral part of my children's lives. The staff loves the kids and goes out of their way to always make my family feel welcomed. I hope the community is able to stand together and keep our museum open.
— Jen and Jeff O'Neill, Derry
The Met is a real treasure for area children and a definite boost for local business. I hope this campaign succeeds in helping them establish a more solid financial footing here in downtown Derry.
— Gary Stenhouse, Town Administrator, Derry
I am SO happy to hear that The Met might not close!! I was on the verge of tears when I read the article saying that it would be closing! I have been going to The Met since it opened 16 years ago. My mom used to take me, and my sister and brothers. I have taken children that I babysit, and now my own daughter there. I hope they can get the money they need to stay open!
— Kris Medina, Derry
As the founding organization of The Met we would hope that the whole community joins with us to keep this wonderful resouce available to the children, families, schools and child care providers of Souther New Hampshire.
— Kathy Gallagher, Exec. Director, Nutfield Cooperative School
My family has loved the Met since our first visit! Both my children have had such fun at the Summer Programs, learning new skills, making creative "masterpieces" and exploring areas of interest to them. One of our very favorite family holiday traditions for the past few years has been the Gingerbread House Class every December! Please keep the Met going - the dedicated staff is a treasure to the children of the area!
