Safety and Security at the Met

The Met is specifically designed to be a safe and comfortable environment for children and families.

  • Everything is on one floor, making it much easier to keep track of children than in a multi-story facility.
  • There is only one entrance and exit, and it is in our Welcome Center (lobby) with a staffed desk.
  • No adult visitors are allowed to enter without a child.
  • Everyone is checked in at the front desk.

The main parking for the Met is in a municipal lot. It is very public, and the police know to patrol it frequently.

Special Event — Stranger Danger Workshop

To help children of all ages learn to recognize, avoid, and cope with potential unsafe situations, we are cosponsoring a special Stranger Danger Workshop with Tim Barchard's Professional Martial Arts Academy.
