Visiting Derry, New Hampshire

Many families make a fun day visiting Derry to enjoy the Met and other area attractions. Here's a guide to some of what you'll find.

Restaurants

These restaurants are in easy walking distance of the Met, on Broadway (Rt. 102). Directions are from Broadway, after walking up to Broadway from the Met's door.

Cultural and Historic Sites

  • The Adams Memorial Opera House — 29 West Broadway (across Broadway and left one block from the Met)
  • Derry Museum of History — In the Adams Memorial Opera House. Museum Hours: Thursday - Sunday 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. by appointment and special hours as posted.
  • Robert Frost Farm — Guided house tours, a children's garden, walks along the Hyla Brook Trail, a summer lecture series, and poetry readings on selected Sundays.
  • East Derry Historic District — Roughly bounded by Hampstead, Lane, and Cemetery Rds. On the National Register of Historic Places, and home to Taylor Library, First Parish Church, and Nutfield Cooperative School.
